Climate Change Masks the Real Problem
The term “climate change” masks the real problem. The word “change” sounds positive. It’s like something good is happening to our planet, which is the exact opposite of reality.
And the term “global warming” is even more misleading. When people hear “warming,” it sounds pleasant, like spring is coming. The truth is that the icecaps are melting, the oceans are rising, and the weather is becoming much more extreme and destructive.
A better way to describe what’s happening is a climate catastrophe that will cost us trillions of dollars, displace vast amounts of people, and take an untold number of lives.
We should call it what it is. From now on, let’s say climate catastrophe–not climate change. Are you with me?
