Ineffectual and unnecessary regulations either need to be rewritten or killed off. We don’t want to stifle businesses and limit personal freedoms by over regulating.
At the same time, simply removing regulations indiscriminately is counterproductive and irresponsible. We risk exposing Americans to contaminated foods, untested drugs, unhealthy pollutants, and a variety of toxins by throwing out the good regulations with the bad.
We must not allow big business to do whatever it pleases regardless of the consequences. What we need are fewer, smarter regulations.
We need to put in place a system to review all regulations, fine tune them on a regular basis, and discard or redraft the ones that aren’t working. This is the only way to promote growth and make government more efficient, while ensuring our safety and a healthy economy.
